Hi all, happy Monday!
I hope everyone is feeling refreshed and ready to dive into a new week! We’ve been caught up in the fun of Halloween lately. The kids have been dressing up around the house, and we’ve had a blast decorating our outdoor space for the holiday.
A few of you have asked if my kids go trick-or-treating and whether they eat the candy. Yes, they do go trick-or-treating, but no, they don’t usually eat the candy. Over time, they’ve learned how sugar affects them—runny noses, tummy aches, and all. Now, they prefer to skip the candy or eat it in moderation. After trick-or-treating, we typically make a deal: they can choose to donate their candy in exchange for an adventure or a toy. So far, they’ve always opted for the experience or toy and have stayed mindful about their choices.
We also love making healthier treats at home! One of our favorites is Fruit Gelatin Honey Treats. Here's the recipe:
Fruit Gelatin Honey Treats Recipe:
- 1 cup of 100% fruit juice (your choice)
- 2-3 tablespoons of grass-fed gelatin
- 1-2 tablespoons of raw honey
- Fun silicone molds for shapes
Instructions:
1. Heat the fruit juice over low heat.
2. Gradually sprinkle in the gelatin while stirring.
3. Once the gelatin is dissolved, remove from heat and stir in the honey.
4. Pour into silicone molds.
5. Refrigerate for 2 hours until set.
6. Enjoy your healthy, homemade treats!
As we head into the colder months, many talk about "cold and flu season," but I prefer to focus on taking care of our internal health. When I get sick, I reflect on what might have stressed my body, like a lack of sleep or overindulging. With the change in routines and extra activities during fall, it’s easy to let our health slip. But with mindful choices—whether it’s getting enough rest, reducing sugar, or listening to our bodies when we need a break—we can stay resilient and enjoy the season.
Let’s all ease into this new season with intention, keeping our bodies and minds in balance. I’m also excited to bring more ideas your way this week—whether it’s Pinterest hacks or deep quotes with pretty backgrounds, stay tuned for more inspiration!
Wishing you a vibrant and mindful week ahead!
