Staying Resilient Amidst Challenges
Dear Friends,
I hope this message finds you well.
As many of you know, Los Angeles has been ravaged by devastating wildfires. The destruction has been heart-wrenching, with friends and colleagues losing their homes. My family and I are safe, and we are deeply grateful to have been spared.
This week has been far from ordinary. We’ve been actively involved in supporting those affected—donating essentials and offering any help we can. Listening to their stories and witnessing their resilience has been profoundly humbling. In moments like these, we’re reminded of what truly matters.
Please keep these families in your thoughts and prayers. The road to recovery is long, and the challenges are immense. The air quality in some areas remains hazardous, and the emotional toll is significant. For those affected, here are some tips to help navigate this crisis and manage stress:
Tips for Resilience and Recovery During an Emergency
Support Your Body Through Stress
Adrenal health: Increase your intake of salt and electrolytes.
Consider supplements like adrenal extracts, licorice root, and adaptogens such as ashwagandha and rhodiola.
Eat regularly, even if your appetite is low. Pair protein with moderate sugar for stability.
Protect Against Toxins
Use activated charcoal and supplements like glutathione, NAC, and vitamin C to aid detoxification.
Use air filters indoors and avoid outdoor exercise to protect your lungs.
Combat Brain Fog
Stay hydrated and consider nootropics like CDP-choline, ALC, and ginkgo biloba.
Try mitochondrial enhancers such as NAD and CoQ10 for energy.
Time to Hold Leadership Accountable
This tragedy is a wake-up call. Poor infrastructure and inadequate cleanup measures have exacerbated the devastation. Issues like dead trees from past fires and water management failures contribute to a vicious cycle.
Now is the time to demand change. Let’s stay informed, vote, and hold our leaders accountable for ensuring safety and infrastructure improvements. Together, we can push for meaningful change.
To Those Affected
To those impacted by these fires, my heart goes out to you. I’m deeply sorry for what you’re enduring. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers.
Let’s stay strong, stay engaged, and take action—not just for today, but for the future.
Warmly,
Jacqueline
